Good Approach in T&L : PLE

Personalised Learning Environment is a good approach in T&L. New era teaching world bring in the implement of new technology make T&L more challenging and interesting. How to apply this approach into class instructional to make the T&L more effective is one of the important thing to teacher before plan an instructional.
            PLE is important to our student, it is  because our student’s learning attitude are passive. More of the student do not know how to find out the knowledge that they need, they are waiting for teacher to supply the information or feed them with knowledge. Some of them were not interested in study, they like to make noise and make trouble when the T&L in progress. Their respond are just a try to tell the teacher their presence and to attract the teacher where they are existing. Teacher need to figure out their need and try to solve this problems. If not, the war inside the classroom will never end.
            PLE is one of the approach to help teacher to ravel out the war. Teacher not need angry and feel heart-struck with their student which become teacher’s enemy, we need to make our class atmosphere more harmonious and engage the student come to us for learning. Teacher need to respect the student for their right to choose who he want to be, trust to the student for they ability to make themselves improve in what they are interesting. Teacher may be need to guide them and plan the PL activity in early stage, after the students are comfort with the PLE, they will continue by themselves, what the teacher need is encourage and scaffolding the process.
            Great PLE come with good PL environment. Teacher need to know it and plan the T&L activities more interesting to engage the student, with the using of internet will help teacher easily to achieve the target. Like what Chinese idiom say:get twofold results with half the effort”.

Techonology VS PCK. Where is the way?

              Every trained teacher know about the teaching theories like Behaviorist, Cognitivist and Constructivist. they also been teach all the pedagogy to help them to plan the instructional. Development of science and technology impulse the change on teachers' mind set. Where is the way to plan our instructional? 
               Although our goverment had spend a lot of money to set up IT facility in school, especially in teaching Science and Mathematics in English. our school had a computer lab with couple tens computer system, but the maintenance is poor. there are only a few computer in function, others were only the body without soul. 
                Where is the way toward TPACK ?  Because of this weakness, we are in stuck and to put ourself only apply the PCK? Do we just sitting and waiting some one to solve our problems? Technology play a important role in instructional in advance country, it can't be replace by others. Online learning is one of the part in their study life, they are moving far in front of us. If we are awareness from this conjuncture,  we really need to change our attitude to look into TPACK seriously. 
                 Today, teacher's function is more as a facilitator to guide the student to learn what they need to know, it is because the content and knowledge are in their palm or lap. they are easy to get knowledge and information in such a short time, and what they are getting to know is more then a teacher can tell! What is the value of a teacher if we can move our step to front ? How can we bearably if student are more know than we as a teacher? 
                 pedagogy is pedagogy which will be limited if we can combine it with technology. may be we feel uncomfortable in the beginning moment, but i can ensure you with feel it is more help than torture you! we will enjoy the  foison fruits with it sweetness in future. Let we start with a small step toward a broad and wide IT world, we swim in IT ocean with our lovely student and you will feel the fantastic feeling.

Do we good enough with IT?

Hi, my dear friends, I like to say sorry for the weak presentation on Webnode, but I really want to bring something better to you all. I will try to get know more and share with all of you in future.
After the discussion of “  Phases of Engagement Model” by Conrad and Donaldson, I realize that is a need for a teacher prepare and start to  transform himself in pedagogy. Teacher can’t deny that is a fast development in IT and our new generation were highly respond to it, some of the students have good skill in using IT than a teacher. How to engage the students take a important part in the instructional by using IT? How the student to start a transitions learning habit through guidance and support by teacher?
We were know student are interest in FB, some of them like it so much indeed to effect their study, and the parent are prohibit them to do online. That is a of the reason and excuse given by student when I ask them to link the FB, to read a reading material prepare by me for an extra learning to cover my class which force to be cancel because of a reason. Finally my plan can’t carry on so well because of their parent not allow them to use FB, then I change the strategy to post the reading and exercise material to webnode and ask student to go to download and read on it.
For beginning, I had some positive respond on it. Some of the student tell me they like it, but in further they weren’t look to it with the excuse  busy and parent not allow the to use internet in week day. They are only been allow to use the internet by week end, but they use almost all the time to play the game, online chatting and respond to FB. So I feel disappointed because of my effort were not been appreciate by parent and student, and I temporary stop to continue the work. But I had my plan to continue the effort by give student some of the hardcopy which is post to Webnode.
From the discussion, I found that if I want to make my plan success, I need to study again the fail’s cause and have a new start. I think it is important to engage the student to work with me in this project. I will ask the student to corporate with me to set up some contents according to their interest,  and I also want to appoint a gatekeeper for each form to make sure the student respond to the online activities. I feel what I am learning now had inspire me with the new idea, and I hope I can do more better than before to bring a lot of goodness to my students.

Reflection of week 3


    life is short, so we are chasing the time. I do feel the routine of every week was so fast,  until I had no enough time to spend on everything look like urgen. I pray it is good if I have the extra 4 hours everyday or I need no sleep that may help me to settle down all the thing.
    
    It was an excited day. We feel heavily with the heart feel darkness along the way to class,  or because of whole night we weren’t sleep well because of we are clouded with pressure. But now all the problems were figured out. We worried because we are new in IT section, for something were easy in people’s perspective were something difficult to us, and  we may need to spend a lot of times on it. But it doesn’t matter, now the sun irradiation all the ways. Thank to Mdm Ng who was consideration for leading us toward the new eyereach.
     
    Thanks to mdm Ng for Introduce  us the online and offline games.  I am sure it will help us in T&L, I do like to tell my students and my nephew to try on it, I think they will like it. Beside that, I will try to find some online and offline games in Chinese language to support my T&L.
It was a little bit  fear to do the online chatting in English compare in Chinese, it is no angenehm because some of my peer type very fast and I am so slow to express my feeling. But the chat activity inspire me there were nothing I need to afraid of, if I do it with all effort, I still can prove that at least I can do something. We have revealed a few issues, one of the discussion is about the using Youtube for T&L, I have been using this tool for teaching purpose, I found there were some video clips are relevant to my T&L, so I download it for my students to watch before or after my T&L, to help them more understand the content. I posted it to FB to ask my students to make some comments. Respond was no so good, some of my students like it and some of the student do the comment because of the forcing.  
 
    KJ, you are so good and nearly great! Very attracting presentation with the great PPT. The beginning with the high level yardstick put us under the huge pressure, I am not sure I can do the PPT as good as you, I am thinking you may be need to share with us you valuable experience. Frankly speaking, I do feel honor to be your friend and I am figuring you will have a high achievement in this course. I am glad to say to others KJ is my peer. You are now a guideline to me to prepare myself for ongoing learning.
